Cataract Canyon River Trip, May 2013
Come raft Cataract Canyon with Joe Nielson and me on a photography-specific trip through Canyonlands National Park, May 14-18th 2013. Barrie Joe has arranged for professional photographer and University of Utah instructor Neil Eschenfelder to come with us down the river. He’ll be offering tips, tricks, and nightly photography sessions. This is a great trip for amateurs and professionals alike; if you enjoy photography, you’ll want to be there with us.
We’re running the trip though Tour West, of course, where Joe and I have been guiding for years. Both of us have logged thousands of river miles through Cataract Canyon, and we’re familiar with all the most photographic nooks and crannies. Of course, as highly skilled, highly trained river guides, we can cook when we have to, and great meals are an important part of any river trip.
Cataract Canyon has a long history of being some of the best whitewater in Utah and in North America. We’ll spend 4 nights and 5 days on the river traveling from Moab, Utah to Hite Marina on Lake Powell. Along the way we’ll camp in beautiful spots and take every opportunity to create great photos and memories.
We’ll leave from Moab early in the morning of the 14th and camp along the river four nights before we get to Lake Powell, where we take off the river. Along the way we’ll see lots of rocks, water and wildlife; all of it worth a few photos. Trip cost is $1000.00 per person and includes all meals on the river. Many questions are answered on the Tour West website here, for anything not answered there, ask me via comments below or my contact form, and I’ll post an updated FAQ here as I get them. Click through to Tour West to book now, and enjoy the photos below. Thanks for looking.
