Leah’s got a new minimalist wallet for sale in her Etsy shop. I designed it and Leah’s in charge of production. She’s been getting blisters from the stitching. I’ve been using the old design for 2 years, and this new one now for about three weeks. Functionally they’re the same, but the new one seems much cooler with only the 2 folds and one hand-stitched side. Our goal is to sell 100 a month. Share/like this and let’s see if we can do that the first month…
Minimalist Wallet
We’re proud to announce our new minimalist wallet. We’ve been planning on and trying to make this wallet happen for months, and it’s finally here.
I wanted a thin, front-pocket minimalist wallet a couple years ago. I couldn’t find one I wanted, so I finally made my own. We’ve been selling those machine-stitched minimalist wallets sporadically on Etsy for the last year or so. For the last three months we’ve been designing and prototyping a new, far cooler model. The new design uses only one seam and the rest of the wallet is folded.
The leather is laser-cut and then we fold and hand-stitch it. The laser leaves the edges perfect and little singed looking, which adds character right from the start. We use only vegetable tanned leather that will darken with use and time. It’s a beautiful, simple, minimalist wallet that will age gracefully and look better after a year of use and abuse. It’s just the right size for 3-8 cards and about 5 -10 bills.
It will flatten out a little with use and conform to however many cards you normally carry – as long as you’re not the George Costanza type. We make these at home and we’re going to try and cap our wallet making at about a hundred a month, so if you want one, order soon, there won’t be any more until next month.
