In the fall of 2011 after reading too much DPReview, and too many romantic reviews of the Ricoh GRD IV, I took the plunge and ordered one.

At first I was overwhelmed by all the settings available on the camera. It’s infinitely customizable and has some pretty esoteric settings. I had to sit down with the camera and manual night after night in order to learn all the controls. I had to consult websites and read other people’s preferred settings for the camera. It was a journey. Within a couple weeks I had it dialed in and shot thousands of images with it over the following year. Continue reading

For a while I was thinking of moving the blog portion of my website over there. After a lot of reading about the differences between WordPress and Blogspot, I’ve opted to maintain this as both my website and as my “blog”. I don’t post too much to the blog portion but perhaps in the future I will.

At any rate, since I’m keeping things here for the time being, I’m going to repost that post here, and link to a new set of the images. I think there were too many in the first post, and I’ve narrowed it down to the 20 images I really like, and I’ll put them in the collections portion of the site.
