Holbrook, Arizona sits in the central eastern part of the state along the now desiccated and largely defunct historic Route 66, the highway that linked Chicago to Los Angeles. Like most towns along the western portion of the classic road, Holbrook seems a shadow of its former self. Although bypassed by Highway 40, Holbrook still has a few interesting sites. Seeing the untouched interior of the old jail, complete with eerie graffiti and calendar hash marks, was worth a stop by itself. Sometimes lonely little towns offer the best opportunities to walk around for a little while and shoot a few photos. These photos were created while stretching our legs and enjoying the relative warmth of Arizona in February. All photos shot with a Ricoh GRD IV.
